Spring Update and Plant Sale!

Spring Update and Plant Sale!

It feels good to be busy.  While I enjoyed the slower pace of winter work, the flurry of activity of the last couple weeks has been a welcome change.  Work clears my mind of other worries and gives me purpose.  With the help of our fantastic employees, we have gotten onions, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, arugula, cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi, chard, kale, collards, radishes, komatsuna, beets, fennel, bok choy, and turnips planted.  The greenhouse is full of plants for our spring plants sales.

Veggie and Herb Plants Sale

The webstore is now open to pre-order Certified Naturally Grown herb and vegetable plants for our plant sale on April 19th at the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market.  Just a reminder that we do not ship or deliver plants, they must be picked up either at the farmers market or at Tubby Creek Farm.   Online orders of $50 or more get 10% off with the promo code 2025plantsale.  Of course, you can always come and shop in person on the 19th at CYCFM from 8am-12noon, or at the farm by appointment!  I’d love to help you get your garden off to a great start.

On May 11th we will have a separate booth set up at the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market just to sell native plants!  This year we are offering over 30 species of native plants, primarily flowering perennials but also some grasses and woody plants as well.   The majority of the plants we offer have been grown from seed in our greenhouse, or from cuttings I have taken.  Because of our natural growing practices these plants are totally safe for pollinators and other beneficial insects.   The webstore will open for native plant pre-orders on April 22nd.

We also have available 15 species of native plants as plugs in 50-cell deep trays.  This is an affordable option for larger plantings of native plants.  If you would like more information about plug flats, please contract Josephine at 662-224-4633.

How do I get vegetables?

Our CSA for 2025 is sold out.  Thank you everyone for all your support.  We are honored that our members have entrusted us with growing food for them and their families.   The CSA starts with week of April 14th.   I know we are all anxious to have more selection of fresh local vegetables!  We will be back at the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market at the beginning of April.  But it may take a few weeks for our production to ramp up enough to have any quantity of produce to sell.
