Our Final CSA of the Year

Our Final CSA of the Year

Woo hoo!  We made it to the final week on the 2012 CSA!  Good timing, too, because the garden is starting to look a little sparse.  We just want to say “thank you” one more time to all of you for supporting us in our first year.  While there has been some blood, sweat and tears, we are even more excited now about the farm than we were at the start of the season.  Farming is fulfilling and rewarding work, and we are thankful that we are able to do it.

After a super busy Monday and Tuesday – trying our best to squeeze four days worth of work into two, we’ve been taking it easy this week in observance of my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.  Of course my favorite holiday is about food.  Another thing to be thankful for, my mother is visiting from Maine.  It’s a farm immersion vacation, today she had the pleasure of harvesting and washing 60 bunches of carrots.

We hope all of you had a wonderful and tasty Thanksgiving.  We have thoroughly enjoyed growing vegetables for you this year.  Maybe not when it was 110 degrees, when the squash bugs invaded, when animals kept chewing through the irrigation hoses – maybe we didn’t enjoy every moment of it.  But on the whole, it has been a pleasure.
