I did it, you guys! I shaped and wrapped ten beds. When I told Meg how anxious I was about making beds she said, “But Randy makes it look so easy!” That’s because he is a real pro. But I am excited to have acquired, if not mastered, a new skill. We have already planted the ten beds I made with more tomatoes, eggplant, and our crop of butternut squash. The lift is not fixed quite yet as we are waiting on another part. It’s practically a swamp out here with all the rain we’ve been having, anyway, so the delay hasn’t really effected our ability to get tractor work done.

Tomato season is underway! While field tomatoes are still a ways off, the high tunnel tomatoes are ripening now. We are excited to be able to start sharing

them with the CSA. There were not enough to give them to everyone this week, so full shares are getting them first. Small shares will get them next week. It is so exciting when the tomatoes start coming in. Tomatoes rule the summer. Planting, trellising, pruning and most of all picking tomatoes takes hours upon hours. Then comes the sorting and weighing, bagging and boxing. Everyday we do something tomato. In the summer, we are above all else tomato farmers. I hope you are ready for a delicious summer full of tomatoes.
