Getting ready for home sweet home

Getting ready for home sweet home

Time for my weekly update!  Guess what we have?  A culvert!  Timmy Bolden came out with his bulldozer and prepped the trailer pad and driveway and cleared a spot for the shed.  It’s starting to look real out there.

Other exciting news from yesterday?  Early morning armadillo sighting in the big field.  Herons, red tailed hawks, and indigo buntings.  More ticks.  Randy hacked down more brush while I took down some barbed wire and weed-whacked the Johnson grass along the road.  Rookie almost got eaten by one of the neighbor dogs.

Once I got the mowing done around 11 am we loaded up to head to Pat’s to see and talk about the trailer.  We looked pretty wore out by the time we got there by that didn’t stop our hosts from inviting us in and feeding us lunch in their blissfully air-conditioned home.

We took a look at the trailer.  Pat’s been yanking off the siding to assess the rot in the wood and pulling up the carpet to replace some of the flooring.  The big question mark right now is whether the moving company will move the trailer without a VIN number, which our lovely vintage trailer does not seem to have.

By the time we got home it was 4pm and 103 degrees, hot and tired, but all-in-all a productive day.
