Before you go any further, please watch this video about breaking down your produce box.  One minute is all we ask!  It saves time and money for us, your friendly farmers, if we can reuse those boxes.

Red and green head lettuces growing in our field

It is finally here, this first week of our 2019 CSA!  The season is starting off with lots of leafy greens, these are the fastest growing crops that are ready earliest in the season.   We hope you are ready to enjoy some spectacular salads, sautes and stir fries.  The anxiety leading up to this point in the year is phenomenal.  Even with several years of experience under by belt, I second guess every decision and plan that I have made.  Did we plant enough?  Will anything be ready of time?  WHAT IF IT DOESN’T GROW?  I am so happy to finally be here, at the start of the season, with something to show for the months of work we have already put in.

When you go to pick up your share, you can either take the wax box home with you, or bring reusable bags and unpack your box at your pick-up site.  Each of the boxes is individually labeled, if you don’t see one with your name, please call or text Randy at 901-359-4982.  We spend a lot of time away from the computer so we don’t always see emails right away.  Please be gentle with your wax boxes!  Have you watched the video yet?  If you take your box home, please bring it back the following week so that we can reuse them as many times as possible.

This year, we are using compostable plastic bags for our loose greens like salad mix and arugula.  These bags can be dropped off with The Compost Fairy at the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market on Saturdays, along with any other food scraps in need of composting.  If you live in Memphis, you can sign up for The Compost Fairy’s home compost pick-up service!  We are working on being able to collect your used, clean produce bags at our pick-up sites.
