Great news, everybody!  It rained!  We got nearly an inch and a half of rain between Friday evening and Saturday. I knew I was stressed, but I didn’t realize just how stressed until we got a little relief.  And while one rain event doesn’t change the situation with the well or vanquish our concerns about climate change, it has sure put me in a better mood.  A little more hope, a little less despair.

The kale was happy about the rain, too.  Everyone is getting double kale this week.  Curly kale and Red Russian kale.  Both are very tender and would work well as a salad or cooked.  Ditto the greens mix, which is a blend of Tokyo Bekana, Komatsuna, and arugula.  We had to stretch a bit to get enough Juliet tomatoes for all the shares, so some are a little on the green side.   A few days on the counter should ripen them up.

For our Saturday members, we will be emailing you separately to give you the pickup address for this coming Saturday (its just a few blocks away from the market) as there will be no market due to Cooper Young Fest.
