Here we are powering through another hot week.  It is July after all.  The tomatoes have peaked.  We will have tomatoes for a couple more weeks and then that will be all until our last planting of Juliet plum tomatoes in September.  We’ve already starting clearing out the older plants, taking down trellis and pulling out plants, which is actually one of my favorite jobs.   I am happy to report that since putting up the scarecrows I have not seen a single crow out in the watermelons.  Fingers crossed it fools those clever birds a little longer.  We may have watermelons as early as next week.  That’s all for now!  I confess my brain does feel a little bit like jelly after being out in the heat, so hopefully I will have more insightful things to say once we are on the other side of it.  Hope you are all keeping cool!
