Happy (Belated) Mother’s Day! Since both Randy and myself moved far from our family homes, we really appreciate how wonderful it can be to have
family nearby to share our lives with. Connie has been living here for over a year now, and we get Guin for a couple months in the spring and a couple months in the fall. We are so glad Cooper gets to spend so much time with both of his Grammies!
But it doesn’t stop there. Both Randy’s mom, Connie, and my mom, Guin, do a lot to keep the show running around here. We’d have a hard time getting all our work done if it wasn’t for their help in the wash pack and in the field. Connie bagged the lettuce in your shares, runs weekly errands, and helps us keep the house acceptably clean, among other things. The onions have never looked better, all thanks to Guin’s weeding. She’s moved on to the carrots now. We have the BEST moms.
The cool spring has given way to a taste of summer weather and I for one am wilting. The plants are doing great. The summer crops – tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and peppers – are taking off now that the temperature is rising. Our summer CSA share starts June 7th. If you haven’t signed up yet, we still have a few spaces available but we do anticipate selling out.
